Hello! I'm Laura. Born in the Dominican Republic, raised in Puerto Rico and now living in Barcelona for six years. My passion for food began when I was a child, learning to cook with my grandmothers. From my maternal grandmother, a great homecook, I learned to cook traditional food from Puerto Rico with all its flavor and soul. She helped me understand the importance of food as a unifier, the essential part of any special gathering. From my paternal grandmother, a professional cook, cookbook writer and host of TV and radio cooking shows, I learned the magic of pastry and the elegance of French cuisine. From her, I also inherited my passion for sharing my cooking with others. Just as she did through her cookbooks and cooking shows, I relish the opportunity to share my love and knowledge of all sorts of food. As you can see it´s in the genes! As a professional I have been working in the field of gastronomy and hospitality for about 10 years, as a cook, pastry chef, waitress, restaurant manager and organizer of culinary events. I am passionate about expressing my love for cooking my culture and using everything I learned during my career to create culinary events where I can share my family's cuisine and do it in a hospitable way where my guests feel at home!
