We had a beautiful evening with Jean-Marie, Caroline and Jade (I hope I have the spelling right). The food was delicious, the conversation was very enjoyable, the wines were thoughtfully matched, and the ambiance was perfect. We felt extremely spoiled. Jean-Marie and Caroline went out of their way to make us feel at home and as for their bébé - she is simply adorable. Thank you for a very memorable night, the most delicious food we have had for a while, and for the great discussions.
June 2015 - Black truffle dinner

This was our first petanque session, an evening of pastis, wine, cheeses and assorted nibbles prepared to Jean-Marie's high standards. A fun way to while away a few hours on a sunny summer evening.
February 2015 - Petanque

Had another great time with Jean-Marie, Caroline and le bebe for a great afternoon of food, wine and petanque. This was our second petanque session and I have no doubt there will be more. It is excellent fun for a group to get together.

Excellent evening! Jean-Marie and Caroline were exceptional hosts and provided for an interesting evening. We'll be back.

We had an excellent night with Jean-Marie and Caroline. They made us feel very welcome, the food was outstanding and the ambience tops. They provided top quality French wines and did an excellent job with the food and wine matching. We were treated as friends and by the end of the night felt like old friends, sharing many stories back and forth about each others experiences in the others country. We will be back here in the future without a doubt.

July 2014 - Raclette

A wonderful raclette meal, with interesting and animated company, chez Jean-Marie and Caroline: exquisite entree, copious and delicious raclette ingredients, a delightful fraicheur dessert (Jean-Marie's creation), all washed down with French champagne, wine and eau de vie de poire. The first, but not my last, of Canberra's VoulezVousDiner meals.

We enjoyed a magnificent French dinner, skilfully prepared by Jean-Marie. Smoked salmon blinis, foie gras croquettes, truffled oeuf en cocotte, sausage with lentils du Puy, and a superb dessert of white chocolate and passionfruit cream with raspberry sorbet; all absolutely delicious. The sort of meal one might expect in a top-class French restaurant, but with a much more intimate ambiance, thanks to Jean-Marie, his charming wife Caroline, and our fellow animated guests. An excellent way to spend a cold winter's night in Canberra!

As you’d expect with a talented chef and a gracious hostess, the dinner easily met all our “good eating” expectations. The three courses were true to the published menu, and the two classy hors d’oeuvres also warrant mention – the croquette with foie gras placed on caramelised beet was a revelation! The wine matched perfectly: the minerality in the Chapoutier went well with the entrée and the red that was served next had delicious berry (which meant that I continued to allow Jean-Marie to refill my glass…) The conversation flowed and five hours had passed before we realized that the two young parents would need to get some sleep before the baby in the house woke up. It was a wonderful dining experience – Carolyn/Jean-Marie: Nous avons beaucoup apprécié votre diner!

Fantastic company, fantastic meal

Big thank you to Jean-Marie, chef of the French Embassy, for this delicious meal. We ate well (that's an understatement, where else can you eat real gastronomic food in Canberra), had a great time and felt at home (but with even better cooking, apologies to my wife) :-)
Franck's place was also the perfect setting for this, and he made sure we were all entertained and having a good time.
Big thanks to both Jean-Marie and Franck. We'll come back for sure!
