I teach a simple, completely hands-on pasta making experience (no machine involved) – exactly in the same way my grandmothers taught me.
We will begin the experience by talking and making pasta with our lovely fresh and seasonal produce and explain a bit of history, interesting facts and what its local and traditional in Portugal.
You will each make your own portion of fresh pasta, roll it out by hand and shape it in one of the most delicious Southern Italian pasta dishes, yum! While waiting for the dough to rest and then dry, we’ll also make a couple simple sauces with the ingredients previously bought at the market, learning techniques that are easily applicable to anything you’re cooking at home, even when using a dried packed pasta.
The ingredients we are going to use will be all fresh, carefully selected and as much local as possible. The condiments varies according to the season. Along the class you will taste some appetisers which we will be keeping going for the entire course of the class.
All the food prepared will be eaten and enjoyed around a beautiful set dinner table.
