Let's all agree that the famed pop up chic picnic that started in Paris over 30 years ago will be in hiatus this year, at least in the cities I have previously partaken of them. But for this French girl a classic chic French picnic need not be all in white nor need it be for you and several thousand of your closest friends. I would however love to celebrate these summer picnics with a dozen or so of my new and old friends. Won't you come join me for a surprise destination stylish picnic.
In the spirit of that white event, rendezvous will be at my home , final destination unknown (within a half mile walk, no two in exactly the same location) These are small enough that I have tables but you will be required to bring your chairs. I will provide all the food and beverages, you will help get it to the final destination. We will set up together and breakdown as if the dinner never happened., in the spirit of that famed evening so long ago.
You will be assigned the "color" of the evening upon the purchase of your seat, no two evenings will be in the same color. Though I won't require that you dress from head to toe in Lilac, or Orange, I request that your respect the spirit of the meal and participate and that the color of the evening be present upon you.
Though the picnic dinners will follow a "formula" and be similar, no two will have the same menu. There will be something for everyone with multiple selections of salads of whatever tickles my fancy from that week's farmers markets and a selection of proteins that compliment those salads best. Though primarily a French feel, you will find flavors from many European countries, some from the US and others from far off lands.
In order to observe social distancing as best as possible, depending upon the final size of the group we will be looking at tables of 4 to 6. Hand sanitizer provided.

After all that we will keep dessert light, cool and refreshing with small creamy bites. Multiple flavors, and textures to tease the pallet with small portions so you can help yourself to more than one!

Did I mention it's summer and hot out? Wines will be refreshing and compliment the evening. Icy non-alcoholic beverages will cool us off. What more could you ask for?
This was the 3rd event I have had the pleasure of attending with Yolande. She never fails to amaze! The food is a step above the rest. The food, setting and people make for a fantastic and unforgettable evening. Can’t wait for the next event

Yolande is a great host - always great food and drinks! She thinks through everything and provides a full experience from start to finish.

Yolande always treats you like royalty. She is very welcoming

The cassoulet was simply phenomenal - on par with what I've eaten in Toulouse. The homemade duck confit simply melted off the bone. The French-style salad with endives, watercress, and sickle pears was really light and lovely served after the cassoulet, which can be a pretty hearty meal. Enjoyed the French 75s as the cocktail of the evening and the wine pairing. The pineapple flambé was a fun way to finish the meal. Yolande is an excellent host and her food clearly made with love.

Delicious food and lovely ambiance. Everything was up tp our expectations. Being from France ourself, we felt like home. It was a charming evening with good company, excellent food and attention to details. C&G

The Bouillabaisse was fantastic! Well-seasoned with a delightful mix of fish, shrimp, clams, mussels, and potatoes - which was well-complemented by the Provençal rosé. Her renovated Reservoir Hill row home with vintage French décor affords a convivial atmosphere. But above all, Yolande was an attentive host and engaging storyteller, which made for a lovely evening with great conversation and excellent food. Would highly recommend!

Yolande is the sweetest, most down to earth host. She makes sure everyone is welcomed, well fed and makes sure that you aren’t Thirsty. I’m so glad I came to Yolande’s bouillabaisse dinner. Everything was fresh and flavorful. 10 out of 10. And will def return.
