8 tips for a successful holiday in Rome!

8 tips for a successful holiday in Rome!

1) Choose the right flight

To go to Rome you have the possibility between several airlines, low cost or not. If this is for a weekend the low cost will be perfectly suitable, on the other hand you risk doubling the price of your ticket by adding luggage or reserved seats. The best way to choose your flight is to do it via a travel comparator like LILIGO. Indeed a travel comparator like Liligo allows you to compare prices between several companies and booking sites in order to be sure to have the best flight at the best price! No more hours looking for flights on several websites!

2) Housing

For a weekend, choose a hotel. For a longer stay, we advise you to rent an apartment with an equipped kitchen in order to enjoy the culinary delights of Italy. During our last stay in Rome, we went through SONDER, a rather nice and stylish apartment rental agency.

Sonder : Trevi Fontain

3) Dolce Vita on a Vespa !

What better way to visit Rome than with a Vespa? You have the possibility to have a Vespa delivered to Rome by DOLCE VESPA and to enjoy the joys of the great outdoors on an emblematic Italian scooter. A little something extra: The owner of Dolce Vespa is also a Mamaz Host, so why not pick up the Vespa after a dinner at his home and his wife?

4) Eat With Locals !

You have the possibility to dine directly at a selection of hosts, each one more remarkable than the others!

Stefano:

Stefano is a former bartender, who after having lived several years in London is back in Rome, he will welcome you in an apartment with a very pleasant terrace! Don't hesitate to have a great meal, you will have the opportunity to learn a lot about mixology!

Rocco & Fabio :

Rocco & Fabio are wonderful hosts who will make you feel comfortable, laugh and have a good time! Beyond the culinary experience that they will offer you, it is a leap into Italian culture to which you will be entitled, a friendly and authentic moment that you will be able to enjoy.

Cécilia et Justin :

Cécilia & Justin, we told you about it earlier, Justin is our host who rents you vespa! His wife cécila cooks wonderfully and they welcome you to their garden in a magical atmosphere! In addition to spending a great time with them, you will leave home as if you were leaving with friends!

5) Learn how to make pasta

With Mamaz you have the possibility to participate in cooking classes and learn how to make pasta at Sarah's for example! Gnocchi, Fetuccini or ricotta and spinach ravioli will have no more secrets for you.

Reservations : Cours de cuisine : La Pasta ! of Sara or Atelier Pâtes of Liliana et Filippo

6) At the restaurant order less than you think

Italy is known to be a country where people eat well, we advise you to order several times in the restaurant in order to find yourself with much more than you can eat, believe our experience! Pasta is for example an appetizer for Italians but a main course for travellers !

7) Buy your visit tickets online

Hours of queuing in front of the Coliseum or the Sixtine chapel is not the passion of many people... to avoid this, nothing could be easier, just buy your tickets online and book a slot to visit the monuments. You can buy your tickets directly on the  RESERVATION website.

8) Forget Uber !

In Rome you can forget the Ubers, the prices are prohibitive because it is only the "black" version which is available in Italy. We recommend that you download the "MyTaxi" application to get from the airport to your hotel or apartment.
